وتعد المدينة من أغنى مدن المنطقة، وإحدى المراكز الإقليمية للتجارة والسفر، حيث شهدت العديد من الإنجازات ومشاريع البنية التحتية الكبرى مثل الطرق الحديثة والسريعة والمستشفيات والمدارس والجامعات والمتاحف.
