زار احد كبار الطيارين الفرنسيين لبنان وتفقد طائرات من سلاح الجو اللبناني ثم لدى عودته الى السفارة الفرنسية قال امام الملحق الامني والعسكري ما هي هذه الفضيحة في لبنان كيف يشتري لبنان 10 طائرات سوبر توناكو وهي من اقدم الاجيال ولا تصلح الى شيء، انها تصلح للصيد في غابات افريقيا ضد الحيوانات وغيرها، فكيف يشتري لبنان التي كان لديه سنة 1964 طائرات ميراج وهي كانت احدث الطائرات في العالم يشتري سنة 2016 طائرات سوبر توناكو القديمة والمهترئة والتي لا تصلح الى شيء.
واصيب الطيار الفرنسي الكبير بصدمة بالغة وقال لا اجد تفسيرا الى ذلك ابدا ابدا ابدا. وان بامكان فرنسا التي تملك 350 طائرة من طراز الفا جيت ولم تعد بحاجة اليهم مثل الاول لعدم استعمالها اياهم كلهم بتقديم 12 طائرة الفا جيت لسلاح الجو اللبناني على الاقل كي يكون على مستوى متقدم من الطيران. رغم ان طائرة الفا جيت مضى على تصنيعها 30 سنة، اما طائرات سوبر توناكو فعمرها 50 سنة ومنذ 32 سنة تم تحديثها وتغيير محركها وقيام الطيران التجريبي عليها وانها اكبر فضيحة ان تشتري قيادة الجيش اللبناني طائرات سوبر توناكو البرازيلية الاصل والتي قامت مصانع اميركية بصيانتها وباعتها. وردد اكثر من مرة انها فضيحة الفضائح هذه الطائرات سوبر توناكو.
